Municipal Mayor Ynigo Jesus D. Romualdo welcomed the DILG validation team led by Charles Anthony C. Vega, OIC Assistant Division Chief and Kim Nicole S. Samson, LGOO II in their official activity in the municipality.

The Seal of Good Local Governance or SGLG is a national mandate of the State under Republic Act 1192 to recognize the good performance of local government units in transparency and accountability. This includes the use of public funds, preparedness for challenges posed by disasters, sensitivity to the needs of vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society, implementations of health programs, investment and employment promotion, protection of constituency from threats to life and damage to property and safeguarding the integrity of the environment.

The Municipality of Mambajao is hopeful to bag this recognition in 2022 to add to its long list of awards and citations in various good governance programs.

Ardent Spring Resort is among Camiguin’s well-loved tourist destinations. With its warm water that springs from Mt. Hibok-Hibok, this spot is perfect for wading after a long day’s tour around the island. The pandemic has allowed the Local Government of Mambajao to rehabilitate the place. The resort’s cottages have been repaired and new rest rooms have also been constructed. Soon, the LGU will reopen its accommodations and restaurant facility with better amenities.

Ardent Spring Resort is located in Barangay Tagdo, about 10-minute ride from the Poblacion. Food stalls and souvenir shops are also open to serve its picnic-goers. It is open from 6AM to 10PM daily and charges only an entrance fee P50 per person. Picnic sheds are also available for rent.

This year’s fiesta celebration is the most anticipated revelry as the restrictions of Covid-19 halted the usual fun for two years in a row. As the events are expected to gather large crowds, the town’s safety officers remind all the party-goers to observe the various health protocols such as the wearing of face mask. Every participants of each competition and presentation are also required to be fully vaccinated.

The 2022 Fiesta Steering Committee has prepared an assortment of activities during the 10-day celebration. In the pipeline are various sporting events and the comeback of the customary fiesta features such as the drum & lyre competition, dance sport, religious processions, concerts, rave parties, parades, variety shows and the much-awaited staging of Miss Mambajao 2022.
